Moving Services In Short

By Dalvin Rumsey

Moving companies on the market offer a large variety of services, and, of course, a winde range of prices, in order to suit any person that intends to move from one location to another. After asking your friends about the experiences they had with the moving services they have used, a good idea would be to actually get all the necessary information from the companies themselves. You must first compare different companies, services and prices and only then decide for the one that suits you best. The Better Business Bureau (BBB) or the American Moving and Storage Association (AMSA) can provide more information on the moving companies.

The companies who are members of the AMSA or the BBB have agreed to work according to a code, so its best to choose one of them. You will be given the opportunity to compare movers and their moving services.

Disclosure of the moving information and written estimates of the charges that may occur are being provided by the companies that are members of the AMSA. They also offer timely service and give a prompt response to any claims or complaints the customer might have.

Once you have gone over the list of moving companies, you must give them all the information regarding destination and timing of the move. They should provide you a list of their moving services and an explanation of the estimates they will provide. You should get a copy of that, in order to compare it with the list provided by other moving companies. In the end you must have gathered all the necessary information that will allow you to choose the moving company that will best suit your moving needs and of course, the money limits you have set for this process.

Before deciding on which company to use, there are some things that must not be overseen: the rates and charges of the moving company for the services, the liability for the belongings, the way pickup and delivery will be done and finally the claims protection you have. If you dont forget this, you will not be sorry later.

It would be a good idea to see if the mover participates in a Dispute Settlement Program. Just in case anything bad should happen during the move.

You should start preparing for the move five to six weeks before the final moving date, so that everything will go smoothly.
