Traveling can be tiring for you and to your plants as well, so you need to water those hours before you travel. Newspapers are also useful as it can be used to dampen the soil of the plants. Soak the newspapers in the water and place it on the plants soil to keep the soil moisturized. Wrap pots and other fragile items in newspapers to avoid them from breaking.
